Because the brushes need to maintain continuous frictional contact with the high-speed rotating commutator, they gradually wear out over long-term use. This not only requires regular replacement but also produces carbon dust and electrical sparks. The carbon dust can easily cause short circuits in humid environments, while the sparks may result in electromagnetic interference or even safety hazards. Additionally, the energy loss caused by friction leads to lower overall efficiency, increased noise during operation, and significant heat generation. These issues are particularly pronounced for water pumps that need to operate continuously for long periods.
