DIFFUL SOLAR PUMP - - Distributed photovoltaics are popular, and the Polish photovoltaic market has a good prospect

Sep 3,2020

According to the latest data released by the Polish power grid operator PSE. From January to July, Poland added a total of 961 MW of photovoltaic installed capacity. As of the end of July, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation in Poland reached 2.26 GW.

At this stage, the growth of installed photovoltaic power generation capacity in Poland is mainly attributed to the distributed photovoltaic market. Favorable measures such as the net metering tariff policy have promoted the development of the Polish distributed photovoltaic market. Earlier this year, the Polish government introduced a new policy. Small photovoltaic power plants with a scale of more than 50 kilowatts are allowed to sell excess power to the grid. This will further encourage industrial and commercial enterprises to invest in the installation of rooftop photovoltaics.

The Polish Energy and Climate Research Institute agrees with the above view. He also believes that since 2019, the Polish distributed photovoltaic market has attracted a lot of investment, helping the country's photovoltaic industry to expand rapidly. "Investors are very optimistic about the development prospects of small photovoltaic power plants. Judging from the current situation, it is expected that the investment focus of the photovoltaic industry this year will still be on the distributed photovoltaic market. By 2021, there will be a large number of small photovoltaic power stations less than 1 MW. Completed and put into operation."

Even under the influence of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the market's enthusiasm for investment in the distributed photovoltaic market remains unabated. In June, the European Investment Bank issued a loan of 18 million euros to Polish photovoltaic company Energy Solar Projekty. Funded its investment in the construction of distributed photovoltaic projects. The scale of each project does not exceed 1 MW, and the total installed capacity of the project is about 66 MW.

In addition, the Polish government is planning to launch a new round of bidding for photovoltaic power generation projects, among which the total scale of the bidding for distributed photovoltaic projects is expected to be 800 MW.

Good development prospects in the next 5 years

Industry data analysis agency GlobalData said. In the context of the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the market originally expected Polish photovoltaic demand to decline. But in fact, the Polish photovoltaic industry still maintained a relatively rapid development momentum this year. A survey result showed that even in March when the new crown pneumonia epidemic was more serious, the demand for photovoltaic modules in Poland increased four times compared with the same period last year.

Although the Polish photovoltaic industry demonstrated strong development resilience in the first half of this year. However, in order to support the development of the industry, the Polish government still introduced safeguards. Postpone the commissioning and grid connection of large-scale ground photovoltaic power plant projects to May 2021.

GlobalData believes that according to the current plan of the Polish government, the distributed and centralized photovoltaic markets in Poland will go hand in hand, which will trigger an investment boom. With the joint participation of public institutions and private enterprises, the new installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation in Poland will grow by gigawatts every year in the next five years. By 2025, Poland is expected to complete its goal of achieving a cumulative installed capacity of 7.8 GW of photovoltaic power generation ahead of schedule.

GlobalData stated that the Polish photovoltaic industry will develop at the "fastest" rate in the next five years. By the end of this year, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation in Poland will account for more than 3.5% of its total installed capacity. By 2025, this proportion will increase to 7%.
